Sunday, is the Lord’s Day, so it is a significant day for Redeemer, as we set apart the day from our normal routines to gather together as a church to worship our God. Our services are a joyful encounter with our great God and Savior. We come each Sunday to be refreshed by the proclamation of the Gospel and we would love to have you experience this with us.

​In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus said to go make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching them to obey His commandments. This includes the call to teach not only adults but also children.

Worship

  • The centerpiece of our life together as a church is our weekly Sunday Worship Gathering. Our worship service is a divine dialogue of gospel renewal—that is, when we come together on Sundays for worship it is to have a conversation with God, and he is renewing us with the gospel. We refer to this as Christ-Centered Worship. This understanding informs what we do in our services and the way we do it. God is the initiator in this conversation: He speaks to us in the call to worship, the reading of the law, the declaration of pardon, the preaching of His Word, the administration of sacraments (Lord’s Supper and baptism), and the benediction. Primarily we come to hear from Him. Our part in this divine dialogue is always responsive in nature: we respond to God in our prayers, confession of our sin and our faith, giving of our offerings, and singing.
  • A staple of our worship is Word-centered, Christ-exalting preaching. We preach consecutively through books of the Bible in an expositional manner—that is, exposing what is in the text instead of imposing our preferences upon it. Sometimes we will take up a more topical or thematic series, but even in those instances each sermon will be committed to unpacking a portion of God’s Word.

Your Part

  • The worship service has several moments where the congregation is involved, and we would love your participation as well. This would include things like singing, responsive readings, confession of faith and corporate prayers printed in the bulletin. If this is new and you don’t feel comfortable, we encourage you just to watch and listen to the people of God worship. You can learn a lot, and prepare for next time! Expect to never be singled out, put on the spot, or asked to interact in conversation with others during the actual worship service.

The Lord's Supper & Baptism

  • We recognize that as sinners we forget God’s promises often, and so we are eager to have them confirmed to us in the Ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism is a one-time initiation into the visible church. The Lord’s Supper is a frequent celebration that since we belong to the church Christ has died for us and lives for us.
  • We celebrate the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper every week. This is a meal from Christ and for His church, therefore we require participants to be baptized and professing members of a congregation that believes in the Bible and preaches the Gospel. If this is true for you, then you are most welcome to the Table with us.

Singing

  • Our musical worship contains God-honoring and Christ-exalting lyrics for us to respond to God for who He is and what He has done through His Son, Jesus Christ. We neither despise nor idolize the past but take from it that which has been proven to be true, beautiful, and edifying to the Church. We also celebrate newly composed songs and hymns (Ps. 40:3; 144:9) that augment the Church's musical heritage. Consequently, the songs we sing span the entire era of the church, from the ancient to the modern.
  • It is congregational worship, which means it is not a performance or a concert. The voices of the congregation are meant to be heard as we sing in unity and are encouraged by hearing those alongside us as we lift our voices to God (Eph. 5:18-21; Col. 3:16)
  • The primary audience in our worship is the Triune God of the Bible. The aim of the Christian life is to glorify God (1 Cor 10:31), the goal of the church is to glorify God (Eph 3:21); therefore we direct our praise and worship primarily to God the Father, through Jesus Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, to the praise of his glorious grace (Eph 1:3-14). ​
  • Our music and instruments are meant to accompany and carry the singing, not over-power it. They function as a servant for the congregation providing background for preparation and meditation, both as a prelude and postlude to service. 

Children

  • We believe that children belong in the service, under the ministry of the Word with their parents, and we encourage families to worship together as much as possible. If needed, we happily provide a staffed nursery during the AM service.
  • We understand that children need to learn how to worship God and hear His Word so Squirms and cries are welcomed and are a sign of a growing church.
  • If needed, there is a Children's Training room available in the fellowship hall, where the service is streamed, for those training their children to sit still and quiet in worship and for nursing mothers.

Fellowship and Food

  • After service people stick around for snacks and fellowship - greeting one another and discussing life, ministry, theology and everything in between.
  • On the first Sunday of each month we have a Manna Rest meal, which is a pot-luck style fellowship meal. If you are visiting, you are most warmly welcome to join us! Don’t worry about bringing any dishes, just bring yourself. We meet in the fellowship hall after morning worship service

Fragrance Free Zone

  • We strive to ensure our church environment is safe and accessible for all people.
  • There are a few in our body with strong sensitivities, so to make it easier we have added air filters within our sanctuary. Our bathrooms have only fragrance-free soap and no air fresheners or potpourri.
  • You can help us in our goal of being welcoming and accommodating to all who wish to worship with us by refraining from wearing perfume/cologne, after-shave, scented lotion, hairspray, and body powder inside the building. We recognize this requires a special kind of mindfulness and we appreciate everyone’s commitment to this issue.
